Please select the correct operation mode for the built-in and external sensors. If the wrong selection or sensor damage (failure) is made, the screen will display "E1" or "E2". The AURATON Pictor DS controller will turn off the heating until the fault is removed.

A1 Calibration of temperature readings

The calibration function allows you to refine temperature readings with a tolerance of ±3°C. For example, the AURATON Pictor DS indicates that the room is 23°C, while a standard room thermometer hanging next to it reads 24°C. By changing the calibration by +1 degree, the AURATON Pictor DS will display the same temperature as the room thermometer.

A2 Hysteresis

Hysteresis is designed to prevent the actuator from switching on too frequently due to minor temperature fluctuations.
For example, for a hysteresis of ±0.2 °C, with the temperature set to 20 °C, switching on will occur at 19.8 °C and switching off at 20.2 °C. For a hysteresis of ±0.4 °C , with the temperature set to 20 °C, switching on will occur at 19.6 °C and switching off at 20.4 °C.

A3 Parental lock

Allows you to restrict access to unauthorized persons.

A4 In case of power failure

This function allows you to determine the behavior of the AURATON Pictor DS controller in the event of a power failure and its return.

A5 Display brightness level

Allows you to specify the brightness at which the display should operate.

A6 Program work schedule

This schedule allows you to define how to program the Auraton Pictor DS controller.
Three programming schedules are available:
Schedule "0" (5+2) allows you to program the controller from Monday to Friday (6 programs) and Saturday and Sunday (6 programs).
Schedule "1" (6+1) allows you to program the controller from Monday to Saturday (6 programs) and Sunday (6 programs).
Schedule "2" (7) allows you to set six identical programs for the entire week.

A7 Lower limit of the temperature setting

This function is used to set the lower limit of the temperature setpoint range. The value is adjustable from 1 to 10°C.

A8 Upper limit of temperature setting

This function is used to set the upper limit of the temperature setpoint range. The value is adjustable from 20 to 70 °C.

A9 Anti-freeze temperature

This function allows you to set the frost protection value, which protects the water in the heating system from freezing.
Range: 1-10 °C. Setting a value higher than 10 °C will cause the ( ä ) symbol to be displayed and the frost protection to be disabled. When the controller is off and the built-in sensor detects that the temperature is lower than the Frost Protection Temperature value, the heating will be turned on.

A10 Overheating protection

This function allows you to set the overheating protection value.
Range: 20-70 °C. Setting a value lower than 20 °C will cause the symbol ( ä ) to be displayed and the overheating protection to be disabled. When N3 is selected in setting A12, if the external sensor detects that the temperature is higher than the Overheating Protection value, the heating is turned off.

A11 Overheating protection hysteresis

This function allows you to set the temperature drop before the heating is turned back on after an emergency shutdown. The setting range is 1 to 9°C.

A12 Temperature sensor selection

The AURATON Pictor DS controller offers three temperature measurement methods.
With the N1 setting, the controller works only with the internal (built-in) sensor.
With the N2 setting, the AURATON Pictor DS controller will only work with the external (wired) sensor. Setting it to N3 will enable both sensors to operate simultaneously. In this case, the heating will be turned off when either sensor reaches the desired temperature.

A13 Minimum time between relay switching

The delay prevents the actuator from being switched on too frequently, e.g. due to a momentary draft (e.g. caused by opening a window).

A14 Operating mode

The AURATON Pictor DS allows you to control a heating or cooling device.
Setting "0" is for heating devices, while setting "1" is for cooling devices. With setting "1," the display will show the symbol ( Ë ).

A15 Relay Operation

The AURATON Pictor DS controller allows you to activate a device by shorting or opening the relay circuit. In most cases, the former option is used. If you need the relay to operate in reverse, this can be changed in the advanced settings. The factory setting is to short the relay contacts during actuator operation.

A16 Resetting the controller to factory settings (except for clock operation)

Using this function will erase all user settings and return to factory settings.
