This document collects information on the safety, installation and use of the AURATON Virgo device.
Wired underfloor heating control strip
The AURATON Virgo is a 4-zone, wired strip designed to work with wired temperature controllers with a VOLTAGE-FREE (COM-NO) , actuators, a central heating pump, and a heating device. Do not use controllers with a voltage output. We recommend using AURATON temperature controllers.

NOTE! All connections must be made with the power source disconnected. AURATON Virgo is designed for DIN rail mounting in installation cabinets. |
Action
AURATON Virgo functionally behaves like 4 separate heating zone channels and can additionally perform the following functions:
- control of the central heating circulation pump,
- control of the central heating furnace via a relay with potential-free contacts.
Description of the device, buttons and controls

- Power status indicator LED
- LED indicating the operating status of the central heating pump
- Wired controller connections 1-4
- Power switch
- Central heating pump control
- NC, COM, NO, potential-free relay contacts
- Heating zone connections 1-4 (actuators)
- LEDs indicating the operation of zones 1-4
DIN rail mounting
- DIN rail
- Hook the AURATON Virgo onto the DIN rail using the upper hooks.
- Pull the lower tab down using a flat-head screwdriver.
- Place AURATON Virgo in the right place.
- Release the lower catch

For ease of installation, the connectors are equipped with removable terminals. These terminals can be disconnected from the AURATON Virgo before making cable connections.

NOTE! All connections must be made with the power source disconnected. Each zone can be independently connected to one AURATON wired controller. |

AURATON Virgo operation signaling
AURATON Virgo signals operating states using LED diodes.
- Power status indicator LED (red):
Power LED off AURATON Virgo disabled Power LED is on AURATON Virgo is in normal operation mode - LED indicating the operating status of the pump and relay (green):
The diode is off No central heating pump control - relay off The diode is on Central heating pump on - relay on - LED indicating the operating status of the heating zones:
The diode is off The heating is off The diode is on Heating on
Control of the pump and central heating furnace
The central heating pump and the furnace are switched on if heating is switched on in any of the heating zones – the diode indicating the operation of the central heating pump and the furnace will light up.
The central heating pump and the furnace are switched off when no heating zone is active – the central heating pump operation indicator light will be off.
To improve the operation of the heating system, AURATON Virgo is equipped with a delay system for switching on the central heating pump and furnace.
When the heating is turned on, the actuators are first activated, and then, after approximately 3 minutes, the central heating pump and relay are activated. The waiting time for the pump and relay to be activated is indicated by the relevant zone's LED lighting up and the central heating pump indicator light going out. After this time, the pump and relay are activated, and the central heating pump indicator light remains lit.
This AURATON Virgo operation is designed to rationally manage heating and prevent excessive load on the central heating pump, which could lead to premature wear.
The central heating pump and relay are switched off when no heating zone is active.
Connecting the central heating furnace
The central heating furnace should be connected to the COM–NO or COM–NC terminals. This is a typical single-pole, two-state relay. In most cases, the NC terminal is not used.
